Fairy Tales

Dreaming is hard,

Sometimes heavy

Heavy like the ghosts i try to leave behind

As heavy as those suitcases I drag

From airport to airport

As heavy as the goodbyes

As heavy as the weight

Of the hard decisions you can’t make

As heavy as the time that goes by

And it’s quicker than me

Fairy tales are for children

And People like me

There’s that moment in a lifetime

When you realize you can give your absolute best

And not care about the cost

Only to understand a moment later

That people don’t expect, don’t want,

And don’t demand anything from you

Except your worst

Fairy tales are for children

And monsters like me

I guess that’s okay

Maybe that’s exactly what sets me

So clearly apart from you

And all those losers

You’ll surround yourself

In your boring but absolute safe life

Fairy tales are for children

And one day maybe i’ll grow up
